Hard cut to the Bankers of Puteoli, looking up from their wax tablet financial ledgers, "quid dicas, caudex?"* before going back to their numbers and olive oil.

(*trans, "say what, you blockhead?" with the neat added pun that a caudex (lit 'stump') could also be used to mean a ledger)

Probably my most fasc opinion is that I think we should have reeducation options for people who say stuff like this.
In response to announcement that he will be a new CBS contributor, Andrew Huberman tweeted “I’ve always gone issue-by-issue on health & science, spoken to experts w/a range of takes & presented where I see the center of (data) mass pointed. I’ll do the same with @CBSNews”. In Sept he posted this:

ICE just showed up at our house for the second day in a row. Four cars yesterday, today five. They rolled up slow, then got out to taunt us, and take pictures of the house. They want fear to overwhelm us, to project a fantasy of power meant to intimidate, isolate, produce obedience—not happening.

I think Democrats have been fairly unsympathetic towards higher education since the Obama administration. They were happy with the Federal Government funding the research side of things for the sciences as long as the inventions were forthcoming and made it to market. Learning, not so much.

The FBI is claiming that sharing ICE’s license plates with a group chat is doxxing, but apparently creating databases of ICE observers with the goals of encouraging harassment and violence toward them is standard practice.

Every accusation is a confession.

There's no way you can keep funding a federal government who's primary mission is to inflict pain on the population. Every federal agency from McMahon at DoE to RFK shredding HHS and everything in between. Every day we let them stay open is more time we'll need to repair the damage they've done
Maher Tarabishi, who has been detained by ICE since October, was the primary caretaker of his disabled adult child, Wael.

On Jan. 23, Wael died from complications related to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition.

ICE has now denied Maher’s request to attend his funeral, his attorney says.

the brave brave Gestapo takes on children, the worst threat of all

(Boston-area folks, if your secure mutual defense networks aren’t including school escorts, no better time than now to start gearing up)
After executing Alex Pretti on Saturday, ICE has shifted to primarily targeting bus stops and elementary schools in my community this week. I cannot overstate how much of the ICE activity in my community is just targeting places where little kids are.
Video from this morning shows ICE agents deploying tear gas outside a Minneapolis preschool as parents shout, “This is a preschool! There’s kids here!”

Me: “When Britain arrived in 1700s, India had 27% of global GDP. After 200 years of theft and millions starved to death, by 1947 India had 3% of global GDP, 90% living below the poverty line, a literacy rate of 17% and life expectancy of 27”

I just called Senators Schiff and Padilla and urged them to abolish ICE. No more CA taxpayer money or resources to “train” them when many of them want to kill us all.

Also begged them to remove Schumer as minority leader if he pushes this “reform” ICE bullshit and gives them one more dollar.
They gave a bunch of roided up thugs weapons and made them immune from legal consequences. You can't really tinker around the edges of something like that, you have to end it

chicago is considered within the 100-mile “border zone” by CBP btw lmao so this is an absolute joke
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:
