Opinions my own, not my employer.
This school board race has been super interesting, pitting an experienced teacher/school admin with a doctorate in education against a really strong (and frankly, intriguing) former APS student just out of college against a longtime APS parent (she finished third in Nov so not in this runoff).
a 14-year old went viral a decade ago in Atlanta for reciting a poem titled "White Boy Privilege”.

on Tuesday, he's running for a seat on the Atlanta school board, with support from the WFP and DSA.

The US may not be recognizing #WorldAIDSDay but individually we can & should. Remember the millions who have died. Celebrate the transformative science that has stopped the death sentence that HIV once was. And keep up the fight to end the HIV epidemic.
Get tested. Get treated. Get on PrEP.

For the first time since 1993, the Trump admin has issued instructions *not* to commemorate World AIDS Day.

Erasing our history won’t erase the epidemic. Silence = Death.

Today, however, Lambda Legal honors the ongoing fight for the rights and dignity of people living with HIV. ❤️

The thing with being literally the wealthiest person to ever exist is that you can give away your money “inefficiently” and still do an insane amount of good.
It’s in fact extremely easy to give away money in a way that helps people.

Stuff like this is just what you say when you don’t actually want to help others.

I don’t think people outside of healthcare realize how much AAP is standing out as a moral backbone of medicine right now, especially in pediatrics. There is so much fear at institutions. Seeing an org directly and repeatedly targeted refuse to budge an inch is extraordinary.

People need food. Market won’t provide it. Government should. It’s literally the whole point.
Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)

No one should ever have to “earn” access to good healthcare.
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

I strongly suspect that Cassidy’s mediocre white man over-inflated ego has him believing that people actually listen to him more than RFK Jr.

Cassidy can tattoo these words on his literal face and it won’t matter one bit compared to a Kennedy with a govt platform & Trump’s support.
TAPPER: You were the deciding vote that allowed RFK Jr to ascend to the role of Health Secretary. Did you give him too much credit?

CASSIDY: The fact is the scientific community agrees that vaccines are safe. That's all I can say.

There’s things to say about the playbook they used, and that’s helped by a little explanation about scientific truth in practice.
