If you haven’t bought/read The Most Fun Thing, what have you been doing with your time?
I wrote a very serious book about the world's least serious thing and I am more proud of it than anything else I've done. Phenomenology! Performance theory! Anatheism and even some William Gass!

Taking a moment—today, in particular—to note that the Common BMW spot might be the worst advertisement ever made.

i too harbor this hope, as do the 20 adult writing students i met saturday in sentence class.
My fear is that with the rise of AI, it's only going to get worse. I do have a bit of hope: if all communication is featureless, ChatGPT robot drivel, I believe people will eventually crave interesting, creative work again. We just need to make sure small publishers survive until that awakening.

I'm afraid this is what happens when you hide who you are. Should have stuck with "St. Louis Bread Company"
Once the top U.S. fast-casual chain, Panera has dipped to number three, falling behind Chipotle and Panda Express.

Now, to try to win back consumers, the chain plans to reinvest in the business and undo many previously implemented cost-cutting measures, it said Tuesday.

pick your favorite toys wisely, i guess
starting to think that repeatedly sinking trillions into Silicon Valley's new favorite toy while tech companies spend millions to kill any meaningful regulation is actually not going to end well

When it comes to the accepted calendars for book promotion, a large and important caveat is when you believe way more people should read the book due to they generally find your topic frivolous or beneath them. In such a case you can promote your skateboarding book forever. Forever.
