For the cost of a few highway interchanges, Rhode Island could have this instead.
I had to go to a store on Bald Hill Road yesterday, so I took the bus(es). A total of 6 buses and a 4+ hour excursion for a trip that would have taken about an hour total with a car. If you ever want to feel like you're the least important person in the world, wait for a bus on Bald Hill Road.

For the love of all that is holy, please please please do not plant burning bush (Euonymus alatus).. This is the current state of the understory of my local oak-hickory forest. There is virtually nothing at the shrub level but this invasive bully. All of this pinkish/whitish foliage is burning bush.

Another reason to hate @ticketmaster.com- just bought tickets for a show to give to someone as a Christmas present, but of course it's mobile-only and ticket transfer is not available for this event, so now the only way to gift these tickets is to sign into my TM account on the recipient's phone..

When I was a kid, the Providence Journal published a morning paper and an evening paper. There was also the Pawtucket Times & Woonsocket Call which are now merged into a shadow of their former selves. The remaining "survivors" in the area are owned by GateHouse. It's pretty bleak.
I don't know if that's true anymore. Real newspapers have a limited scope, the erosion of local news means that the bar for stuff to get reported on is quite high, and I see stuff on TikTok all of the time that people is saying is happening in their communities that I have no way to verify
I feel one million years old here, but we do actually have a pretty reliable way of knowing what news is true. Did a real newspaper publish it? Then probably yes. Can’t find it in a real newspaper? Maybe not.

Long shot but if anyone sees this bike bag in the vicinity of the playground at Dexter Park in Providence near Parade Street, I'm pretty sure I left it there after Fam Jam on Saturday like a dope.. The helmet won't be with it, but the water bottle would be. Also one of panniers is folded out..

It looks like @ripta.com has cut service to more routes than previously announced. The 71 isn't listed on the service change page but its weekday frequency has been cut from every 40 minutes to every 70 minutes.. How many other "unaffected" routes have had unannounced changes?
