Self-portrait thread 🧵
Part 10
1/10
Caterina or Catharina van Hemessen (1528 – after 1565) was a Flemish Renaissance painter. She is the earliest Flemish woman for whom there is verifiable extant work.
Her self-portrait from 1548 may be the earliest known self-portrait of an artist at work.

I have such fond memories of my languages studies at Sydney Uni - how lucky to have had the chance to study French, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu (to different degrees!) all in one place, and to receive scholarships through the BA(Languages) for an exchange semester
The School of Languages and Cultures @sydney.edu.au celebrated 25 years with lively a gathering of past and present staff, alumni, donors and friends.

X is in clear + systemic breach of its legal duties in the UK to remove unlawful content from its platform.

Proof: when X users abuse + harass others with the racial slur "paki", X reporting system defends the racist abuse in more than 90% of cases reported.

A new thread documenting this.
