Steve isn’t here anymore, but he always posted this picture on Hanukkah so I thought we could carry on his tradition and remember him.
Happy Hanukkah to our friends who celebrate. Rachel Posner, a rabbi’s wife in Kiel, Germany, took this photograph in 1931 -- a potent reminder that fascism must be fought in every generation, even if it's wrapped in an American flag and a red hat.

Sen. Jack Reed: "This is really outrageous. Mark Kelly is a veteran, he's fought in combat, he's an astronaut. And even was simply repeated what the law is. If a US senator can't do that, then this country is in profound difficulty."

There hasn’t been enough appreciation for how thoroughly BENNIE THOMPSON humiliated FBI official GLASHEEN after he tried to sell the lie that ANTIFA is the top domestic terror threat.

The claim collapsed because it’s a cover.

You noticed it too, right?

The minute Jasmine Crockett, a fierce fighter against fascism, announced her run for the Senate, the never-Kamala trolls came out in force.

Never that same heat for Trump, who wants to export Palestinians from Gaza and turn it into a resort. Literally ethnic cleansing.

And why? The administration screwed up - by their own acknowledgement - and deported him when he shouldn't have been. So they have decided to ruin his life rather than admit again that they screwed up. And not just deport, but to certain torture because...he had the temerity to be deported in error
This is appalling. Again, Trump and ICE have had the option to deport Abrego Garcia to Costa Rica for weeks and weeks. They won't explain why they refuse to do this. But we know why: Because they've decided it isn't dehumanizing or cruel enough.

In addition to the awful misinformation campaign about the shooter, there are also many conspiracy theories going around, such as: "this was not a Jewish event but a Jewish-supremacy event" and/or "Israel is behind this attack in order to allow Jews to maintain their victimhood"
Encountering a misinformation campaign in real time. The bystander who tackled the gunman at Bondi was identified as Ahmed el Ahmed (link below). But in almost every tweet I saw, there are people claiming the real person is "Edward Crabtree," referencing a website called "The Daily."

In the aftermath of the devastation at Bondi, a deluge of footage poured onto social media. One video of an act of incredible bravery stood out.

The way the word elites has become devoid of all meaning is interesting. It’s a placeholder for “someone I don’t like” and it fascinates me that the people who use it most are wealthy, went to “elite” schools and hold positions of power. Look in the damn mirror. You’re talking about yourself.

Then follows it up with a fact that less than 1% of mifepristone users have side effects... then goes on to treat that like it's still worth investigating!

It's not fully just repeating anti-abortion talking points on air but we're getting there. Now, this is obviously not the full thing. 2/4

Competence in incompetence?

The whole idea of AI is to avoid human thought and minimize human labor. So Purdue is surrendering to anti-thought and anti-work.
It’s been fun while it lasted: “Purdue University will begin requiring that all of its undergraduate students demonstrate basic competency in artificial intelligence starting with freshmen who enter the university in 2026.”
