The reality is that 2024 was a fundamental test of the moral character of the nation and we failed spectacularly. We’re living with the consequences now. Maybe we improve. I hope so.

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

This is the best speech, just from a pure rhetoric perspective - its sophistication and persuasiveness - that I've seen a politician deliver in a good long while. Really recommend watching or reading the whole thing.

I've been wanting to resurrect my sad, neglected blog, but I haaaaate what it looks like. And I have no energy (or time or visual art skills/taste/knowledge) to make it look good and usable and just...nice.

But I just thought of a hilarious thing I'd like to write up.

Woe!

YouTube has a ton of bootleg concerts, video and audio, from like the last sixty years. Whatever your favorite band is, you can probably hear them play your favorite album live. I think that’s neat.

On Jan. 9, 1967, the Confederation Train began its journey.
For the next 12 months, it travelled Canada. In each car of the train was a museum dedicated to our history. The horn even played the opening notes of O Canada.
This is the story of the train.
