This is horrific. People like my family can afford rent, but are unable to get rentals because of student loans damaging credit scores & the high credit score requirement set by landlords in our area. We're forced into homelessness, too.

Criminalize homelessness helps no one.

Yes, this is entirely in keeping with GOP thinking.

Republicans don't see children as human. They are objects, playthings, places for men to vent their lust and rage.

Unintended ... unless the intention was to destroy the US economy.

Don't let Trump's stupidity overshadow his malevolence. They are both always operating.

Your tax dollars paid for another Trump golf trip this morning. Trump left Mar-a-Lago (Spanish name by the way) at 9:07 AM and arrived at his nearby golf club at 9:14 AM.

He doesn’t allow press access, so we have no official transparency into who Trump is meeting with and why.

Since the start of Trump’s second term, the number of children in ICE detention has increased sixfold.

In their letters, kids held at the Dilley center told us about missing their friends, being unable to go to school and feeling trapped.

Hundreds of children are currently being held with their parents at an immigration detention center in Dilley, Texas. In letters and drawings, eight kids convey the pain of feeling trapped with no end...

Hughes: Correct. Women were not fully clothed when Donald Trump came in.

Host: And some of those women were, what, as young as 15?

Hughes: Yeah, as 15 years old.

Every single person or institution that has knuckled under to Trump has been humiliated.

Every single person or institution that has stood up will be honored, and most have prevailed in the here-and-now.

Even the Buddhist Monks Walk for Peace knows this. (See photo from yesterday in DC.)

There’s a term for this experience (which I imagine many of us are having):

Moral injury.

Moral injury is the distress that occurs in response to betrayal by authority structures and being unable to prevent acts that go against one’s deeply held values and moral beliefs.
A sense of betrayal is a very tricky kind of grief to manage, because you're grieving someone who never really existed.

I've always held a pretty dim view of the US establishment & its institutions. After Trump's reelection and the Epstein files, though... I realize that even so, I feel betrayed.
