The library kinda misses the small time lawyer who used to come in to use our legal database and books.
He switched over to AI for research.
His disbarment is next week.

The first post in a thread will suffice, please and thank you. Also, if you repost multiple times per minute, it is clear you are not reading or processing before sharing. Please practice good media literacy, for all of our sakes. K thanks bye!
I am once again asking folks not to repost every single post in a long thread, and especially not to do it in the order they're reading. A whole screen full of an extended argument that I've already read is bad enough. All that plus backwards makes me want to mute either the poster or the reposter.

A programming suggestion for my fellow school librarians. Every winter break I offer book bundles for students and educators. They fill out a form then I pull 3 related books, gift wrap them, and deliver them to each person. It's hella popular and great for collection development.

Why don't we like "AI?"

You try to put it into everything in nonsensical ways.
It doesn't work the way you claim it will.
You don't pay for the work you use to generate it.
Your intent is labor reduction without a contributory return.
You know it's unpopular so you try to hide it.
You lie about it.

“It’s no accident that people who become librarians tend to have restless, questioning minds. They’ll follow a rabbit hole just to see where it goes. They’ll read five articles so a teacher doesn’t have to read fifteen. They share knowledge freely, not competitively.”
