Amen
london.gov.uk
I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again.

Ignore the haters, London is the 🐐
Graphic with the headline “London is the greatest city in the world” set against a bright view of the River Thames with the Shard, Tower Bridge and the city skyline.

The text celebrates what makes London special: regularly voted the number one city in the world, incredible diversity with over 300 languages spoken, world-class transport, world leader in finance tech and life sciences, best museums and galleries many free to visit, world-leading nightlife, food sport and music for every taste, host to the world’s best sporting events, home to seven Premier League clubs, globally-ranked universities, a city where you can be yourself and love who you love, and a place for everyone.

If they make another Star Trek movie, can we have James Gunn direct it? Not because of his directorial skills; I just think it’s about time a narrative included Gunn’s Chekov.

So much excitement for this game. If I could MiB mind-wipe having played the first one and get to do it all fresh I would in a heartbeat

Subnautica 2 (2026): Gameplay reveal trailer

As a reminder, the game's early access release was recently pushed back to next year, amid conflicts between the creators of Subnautica and the publisher.

That being said, he does giggle his way through every episode. I reckon he's working up to asking a return favour

My 3yr-old has announced that he isn't all that bothered about Bluey, but he watches it with me because he knows I like it so much. Which is about the cutest thing in the world

NASA is being told to cancel 19 *active* missions to save $6B, which looks to be less than the ICE *hiring/retention* budget going forward.

I need people to let that sentence sink into their bones for a minute.
reichlinmelnick.bsky.social
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

This is not equality. The BBC is supposed to be impartial. Why are they only promoting religious views on R2 and R4? Why is more secular positive messaging from organisations such as the @humanists.uk not included? Pls help equality by signing this petition.
humanists.uk
Humanist beliefs are not permitted to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Thought for the Day. The BBC had a legal requirement to represent everyone equally – not just religious people. If you agree, please lend your support by signing our petition.

Let humanists speak on BBC Thought for the Day
Why is the BBC excluding non-religious voices from Thought for the Day (Radio 4) and Pause for Thought (Radio 2)? These programmes claim to offer ‘reflections for everyone,’ yet humanist and other non...

I’m devastated to hear that my friend Micky Lachmann has departed this life. He was a fantastic producer - bringing a keen intelligence and a real sense of exploration to documentaries - and he was a lovely person. My thoughts are with his family - especially his boys, who he loved so much.

It is with great sadness that I am doing what I would once have thought unthinkable. Following Salim Abdool Karim's superb Faraday Lecture 10 days ago, i have decided to return my own Faraday prize, awarded in 2014.

The silence of the Royal Society in the face of Elon Musk's rampage (a member […]

I don’t know. I love this Joseph Fasano poem and have it pinned on my office door but I don’t know what to actually do about any of this.
FOR A STUDENT WHO USED AI TO WRITE A PAPER
Now I let it fall back in the grasses.
I hear you. I know this life is hard now.
I know your days are precious on this earth.
But what are you trying to be free of?
The living? The miraculous task of it?
Love is for the ones who love the work.
