read @trungles.com's angelica and the bear prince tonight and aside from the tactful exploration of grief and burnout this book really has me in my feelings about what it means to build a community and watch it change over time.

im gonna go home for the holidays and try to see a game but i was there for the loss against the leafs that was like, twelve out of fourteen consecutive losses. and it felt bad! it felt bad being there!!! it was not enjoyable!!!

it just sucks because growing up, buffalo was a hockey town and the sabres were the darlings. and i guess i stopped paying attention at the top of the decline bc tuning back in now to see how bad it is, is genuinely jarring

it's hard to get invested in these players when the entire discourse in the community — what remains of it — is completely dominated by pegula and adams and their failings. we don't need a fresh roster of young talent, we need a management overhaul.

it is actually bananas how this team has deteriorated in the last ten years. there's a lot of talent on the roster! but it's being mismanaged to hell! and it feels bad to Know without looking or listening to the broadcast that keybank center emptied before the end of the 3rd during the home opener
