To be completely candid to avoid possible future miscommunication that could be avoided — I'm bad at initiating conversation due to various reasons, but I'm always willing & happy to talk, or help! Please, just give me more than a "hi" to work with. This doesn't mean I won't initiate, though

Sure! Any way you'd prefer the explanation? Would you rather it just be adding onto this thread, or a DM?

Making music on a PC is so hella initially confusing & frustrating, just from the sheer amount of jargon, & lack of clear & concise info, so I get it. Stumbling into sf2s was also my intro lmao
He's on the other site under @Naoshi_MIZUTA, & from what I remember, he answered random peoples' questions in the rare occasion he got one
I've also been doing this research, & doing a lot of work trying to get 11's sounds for 11 related projects my Wife & I are doing, so I'm really happy someone else wants to do that as well

If you also want more information, Naoshi Mizuta is also on social media (twitter unfortunately), & can be ?'d

let my wife teach you so you can level up your audio! side bonus: you stop bein a clown
I really wish basic audio engineering & editing were common knowledge — I am so tired of being aurally assaulted by clown audio every day

I am volunteering myself to teach people either by example, or via any other means, just please somehow spread that knowledge to everyone else too
ripped samplesets in SF2 format that you can at least get close to the sound — if you want to buy them to get more functionality, they usually go on deep sales, & you can get a lot of sounds at once for relatively cheap that can grow with you. I can explain what those are more if you'd like
others which were Machi Okabe on violin, & Takuro Iga on piano (which was either a Red Korg SV-1, or a concert grand piano I don't remember the make)

For some of the sounds, you will prolly have to spend money for the VSTs, but for some that were sourced from workstations or sound modules, there's
Most likely Pro Tools for recording & mixing sessions, since that was the standard back then in Japan. The much later osts by only Naoshi Mizuta, he used FL Studio, used real instruments he played himself (mostly Korg synths & bass guitar), VSTs, & if there were other musicians, it was only two
Of course! I'd be more than happy to! No reason to gatekeep the info.

Just would need the time to compile it in documentation, in some way that isn't my head. It isn't documented anywhere else by anyone, unfortunately.

You're right that a lot of the music is from instruments played by musicians 2

I know a bit about the instruments, sound sources, soundset, hardware, & software used in XI's music, cause I did a lot of research over the years. Is there anything in particular you want to know?

Unfortunately, I have a huge gap in knowledge in what hardware synths were used, cause price

If you’re in a creative field and you don’t lift up the work of your peers, you can’t expect people to care about your stuff
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

You NEED to start calling payment processors again, and at all.

This literally destroys an entire ecosystem. If you literally cannot mention a commission *AT ALL*, that's every individual artist at all ever.

Every maker.

Everyone who runs their business this way.

DO SOMETHING.
Paypal is now playing harder ball on artists, going after anyone even mentioning commissions.

Artists, send invoices. That way, no one has to say what the money is for on Paypal's paper trail.

Customers, SAY NOTHING about commissions. Just say "thanks" on donos.

Everyone: INCREASE THE CALLS.

remote work is like birth control or UBI atp where there’s overwhelming research consensus they improve quality of life for people they apply to, yet access is impeded or blocked by the ruling class because the thought of marginalized ppl having rich full lives makes steam come out their ears
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.
the basics of making a listenable end-product by doing the bare minimum in your supposed field/hobby?

Please respect other peoples' ears, & just others in general everyone...hesring damage is forever

I'm hella serious about the teaching thing, by the way, if I can at least help 1 person I'm happy
it, then I will be upset

God, the worst is an audio/music related video & the presenter's mic volume is inaudible or nearly inaudible...like, what the hell dude, why are you broadcasting you're an untrustworthy, unskilled clown that has no business making videos on these subjects until you learn
