The Church had a better PR team, and having a villain who 'wins' by tempting people away from God's Grace turned religion from 'be good people' into 'us VS them'. The lie got roots down before Luci's fall even brought them to Earth.

In truth, Luci was a union rep, but that lore is for another day~

2) Cuz that mantis lie has to do with partners hurting each other.

In my campaign, angels before the fall had 2 souls working in tandem- & after the fall, these soulmates were split to opposite sides of the Angel/Demon war.
Luci tho? Cursed with immortality, while his partner reincarnates & forgets

It's actually for two lore reasons, both from the same false "fact" many tout about the mantis... that females bite off the males' head as part of procreating.

1) NPC Luci was based on the idea that Lucifer's evil was just a lie of the Church. Luci fell first; ideal for a villainous origin by them.

Actually, I want to explain one of these- the Orchid Mantis, which some might misunderstand. Aconite aka the Monkshood flower, fits from color & name! But I didn't choose a colorful mantis because "a PRAYING mantis, cuz monk haha'".

Luci prays to no one, so a clearly non-praying mantis was chosen~

For those curious, Salvation Army has recently been trying to sanitize its rep after multiple accounts of housing & aid discrimination against the #LGBTQIA2 community, instances of SA in their facilities, & homeless folks placed in forced labor programs.

Oh, & they also steal homeless people's stuff before kicking them out of shelters as it suits those in charge, most proceeds go towards salaries rather than helping the needy, & the company regularly donates to CONVERSATION THERAPY CENTERS & PRAY-THE-GAY-AWAY CAMPS.

These are not good people.

It lists the following punishment redeems of:
- eating spicy snacks, such as ghost pepper salami, the Fiery Five jelly beans, and hot tamales candy
- designing NPCs for my campaign, whether it be adding a name, quirk, or appearance to my npc creation tables
- 'chubby bunny' to make me add marshmallows to my mouth while streaming
- matching donations and/or various exercises, on the free punishment wheel for the viewers on a budget, trying to luck into the 'Luci donate' or 'spicy jelly bean 'redeems!

5 straight nights of streaming- 5 opportunities to not only support a good cause fighting for human rights, but ALSO to raise $260 to force me to play a horror game that WILL scare me, for 10 hours...

Sunday October 11- a double feature stream of 'That's not my Neighbor' and 'Munchkin Digital'
Monday October 13- Slay the Princess: The Pristine Cut
Tuesday October 14- Shadows Over Cyberspace, a pre-y2k lovecraft-inspired visual novel

AND if the original goal of $260 is met, there will be two additional days added to the event! October 15th and 16th, the Wednesday and Thursday following the original 5 days, will be the eldritch & body-horror filled 'Look Outside'.
