Every Stephen Miller tantrum and DHS recruitment ad speaks in these existential terms about "defending your culture" to elide the fact that they need people with the courage to wear a mask while interrogating a sixth grader

Not that I expect anybody in the Trump administration to know this, but there's a surprising amount of Danish film and TV from the last 15 years that is deeply marked by the effect the Afghanistan War had on Danes. In particular, I'd recommend the 2015 Tobias Lindholm film A War.
"Denmark is small… But it has tried to uphold its end of the bargain. It lost more soldiers per capita than the United States did in Afghanistan."

Koh: Trump has now spent $30 billion from the last bill for 10,000 more I.C.E. Agents that are going to be on the streets. That $30 billion would cover all the ACA subsidies for a year. It would eliminate all co-pays for prescription drugs for people from a year, and eliminate all medical debt.

Large numbers of people called it before Trump even won the nomination: if elected, he would attempt to rule as a dictator. The prediction was based on who he WAS. Concerned people were called hysterical and derailed into pedantic "debates" about whether he was "really" a fascist or something else.
A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

In a reversal, the agency plans to calculate only the cost to industry when setting pollution limits, and not the monetary value of saving human lives, documents show.

This seems significant: not a FORMER DHS official, but a SENIOR (current) one saying the officer who fired acted counter to training.

This is not an admin that admits mistakes. And they are hanging this guy out to dry on Day One.

I think they know this is bad. Really bad.
