Late night thoughts: I am going to keep mentioning this: why are unelected billionaires Elon Musk and Peter Thiel destroying our government and nobody is stopping them? Neither of them nor their minions have security clearances, but they use their money to do what they want. Isn't this just crazy?

Crockett: "It's just that they're idiots. These are the same guys as it relates to our nuclear stockpile, they're like, 'Oh, wait a minute, we needed those guys? Can we get them back? Oh, we don't know how to.' I don't know how anyone can look at this administration & feel a semblance of confidence"

The DOGE dipshit brigade continues to demonstrate complete incompetence and a profound ignorance about every system they’re in the process of breaking. It’s like putting that kid from the third row back in your history class in charge. You know, the one with very firm opinions and 1.5 GPA.
My offhand math is doing an across the board fire close to all the probie new hires just in the GS/equivalent systems would net probably at least 50K people, maybe closer to 75K, but expand that to the WGs and it's like 150K+
I guess the Post broke this an hour ago, but yeah, this is happening. Expectation is next to zero exemptions, if you were wondering what way the drunk would swing on the topic

I've noted some of the procedural things Democrats could be doing in Congress, but this point from @edgeofsports.bsky.social's great piece in the Nation deserves emphasis.
This is basic politics, and it's baffling that every Democrat isn't doing it every day.

When I was a teacher, my students and I always took time this month to honor the generations of Black Americans who fought against injustice to achieve equal rights.
May we all reflect on our past as we continue working to build a society that lives up to its democratic ideals.
