Being chronically sick like this isn't some romanticized Hallmark movie plot. It's my life with debilitating chronic illnesses. DE-BIL-I-TAT-ING. Look the word up in a frigging dictionary.
STAT News: 'I have long Covid. Don’t call my chronic disease a ‘journey’

I have long Covid. Don’t call my chronic disease a ‘journey’
A “journey” is something you choose. No one chooses chronic illness.

Omg the opening scene 2 years later at the start of Season 3 of Invasion.

"Do you want to go check out the End of Days sales this weekend?"

I am dying. Just dying.

What if Dems ran on sacrificing James Carville's human rights?

You mean the kids that Democrats demonized for protesting Gaza? The ones who everyone piled on when they attempted to build camps and experiment with different ways of providing for each other?

Also, the kids are active - but an increasing amount of activity is going to survive these days.

To be this callous over people losing their jobs makes you the fucking problem.
Tyson Foods announces that they’ll be closing a major beef-processing plant in Lexington, Nebraska with 3,200 employees.

Lexington has a population of 11,205.

Nebraska overwhelmingly voted for the orange felon over VP Kamala Harris.

I hope they’re enjoying their vote.

NEW — Illinois residents can submit comments to state leaders by Nov. 24 to oppose mail scanning, which allows prison officials to scan physical mail and reproduce it into digital copies.

Criminal justice advocates say the practice doesn’t make prisons safer.

Starting again feels impossible, but I’m trying.

This is so true. I have never broken down more when a neurologist told me my pain was psychological.

I was later diagnosed first with a vertebrae out of alignment, and then spinal arthritis. My current spine doc is amazing and takes my pain seriously. But finding him was luck.

I think the thing that bothers me the most about all of this Epstein shit is that Dems apparently had this information and decided to keep it for a rainy day when they needed the heat taken off of THEM.

I recently stood my ground against the language and harassment I've been facing at work as a disabled person and I never would have done that without writers like Alice.
Alice Wong, a transformational leader for disability rights and justice, who founded the Disability Visibility project to magnify disabled culture, died Nov. 14.

Throughout her life, she stressed the value of community in the fight for equal access.

Alice is the gold standard of what Twitter was when it was great - how you could just find these brilliant, remarkable people with the kind of voices that rarely get platformed or taken seriously, and hear about their lives in their own words without intruding on them or demanding emotional labor
Watching disabled people around the world mourn Alice is a reminder of the good aspect of the internet. 30 years ago, few people outside of SF would ever have known Alice existed. I never would have met her. The internet connected us all. Let’s honor Alice’s memory by using that power and community.
My social media is wall-to-wall love for the incomparable Alice Wong, and I need more words. What captures sadness and/also affection for a community that knows what's been lost?

I keep not having the words to say what Alice Wong's work meant to me, and I'm realizing that that's because it would be like trying to say why water was important.

She was a part of everything, when I was coming to understand my disability. Everywhere, with passion and humor and grace.

I am unable to articulate what a loss Alice Wongs passing is. I learned so much from her, and so much of what I now do was inspired by her work.

I'm so thankful to have found her wisdom when I did.

Let's pay back her generosity with lots of holiday orders. I can personally attest that her products make EXCELLENT gifts—my mom is still using her Galaxy wrist brace something like 3 years later!
I decided to eat the costs for the transportation, duties and other fees I incurred. So I won't be raising prices. I know how hard times are right now. I want as many people to be able to afford my products.

@mayorofchicago.bsky.social could literally fund this proposal by taking a sliver away from the police. What a fucking disappointment.
Mayor Johnson’s 2026 budget proposal includes a controversial head tax he hopes will generate $100 million to fund violence prevention and youth employment programs.

The newly appointed DFSS commissioner said the tax serves as another way for corporations to invest in the city.

My youngest is looking at medical schools abroad and I really hope they get accepted to one.
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."

This sort of abuse is going to continue until men start taking it seriously and holding other men to account for their shitty behavior.

The amount of "progressive" or "good" men in my life who were able to shrug off my abuse by their friend was at the time devastating.

Imagine if half of the things in this skeet were true.
Imagine if Dems in the Senate hadn't caved. The House wouldn't be in session rn, the discharge petition wouldn't be signed, people wouldn't have SNAP, govt workers would be RIF'd & the GOP would have some decent talking points. But also online rage addicts would be happier! YMMV!

The Democratic Party needs younger candidates, but it also needs more progressive ones. “What distinguishes Mamdani, AOC, and Platner is not just their youth but the fact that they are compelling progressive populists.” From Robert Kuttner: trib.al/weXDADl
