I agree that Wilson essentially followed the rules here and i’d be surprised if there was a fine or suspension, but personally i think hits like these (and ALL worthlessly late “finishing your check” hits) should be removed from the game so that’s where i’m coming from.

hockey players (and subsequently fans AND dops) have become convinced that as long the contact starts low and then you essentially jump up into the upper body as contact occurs, the hit is “safe”
and “clean” despite creating secondary head contact AND whiplash. Unsafe and unnecessary hits IMO.
