Setting up a self-hosted Jellyfin server is pretty easy, and there arr cool apps that arr very good at automating adding media to it, that arr also cool projects you can look at that will teach you more about how computers work!

On one hand it's super cool to use technology to help organize on the other hand I don't like that I have all this surveillance data on my neighbors now on the other other hand I think I'm a moderately better steward of this surveillance data than Jeff Bezos
I got into self hosted home automation to regain control of my own data and now I'm shopping for more zigbee thermometers to distribute to the rest of the tenants in my apartment building that I can monitor in order to force the landlord to turn the heat on when she's legally obligated.
