Non-spoiler new comics reviews on Tuesdays!

The last DC comic on sale in 2025 just left for the printer -- the spectacular ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #15. This has been one of the most exciting, challenging, and rewarding years of my twenty-year career at this company. Thank you to all of you who've been showing up for these books; we're so proud.

I give you 1984’s UFO Kidnapped. A Canadian sci-fi feature presented on Nickelodeon starring Alasdair Gillis as Alasdair (also Alasdair on You Can’t Do That on Television). This may be where my aversion for UFOs, Alien life, etc comes from. It’s only 40 minutes but watch at your own risk.

I watched this sci-fi “movie” on Nickelodeon back in 1984, but had no idea what it was called. I remembered the end but not the name. @kennethwreid.bsky.social immediately knew the name & today I thought I would watch. I was NOT ready for how creepy this was. Does anyone else remember UFO Kidnapped?

However, when it comes to comics, I interact with a lot of 20-somethings who heard a guy explain it online so they’re good. There’s nuance & interpretation with comics so for me it’s no substitute. They can see me physically deflate. Take the next step & experience for yourself! You’ll be glad!
Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions

I go back and forth on this one. Not comics, but sometimes I will check out a take on a movie or novel or media that I’m unfamiliar with to see if I’d be into it enough to take that next step into the actual thing. It’s a resource that wasn’t available when I was younger.

Even though it is the final issue, I’d like to see people pick up this stand alone issue to see the quality of what was presented here for the DC All In era. I’d like to see stores, myself included, have to reorder due to demand.
This weekend I got to read @christophcondon.bsky.social and Montos' final issue of Green Arrow, #31.

A perfect send off. A self-contained story that ties together everything from the series so poignantly. Chris doing what he does best.

It's on FOC today. Make sure your LCS know you want it.

TODAY is the final day to pre-order issue thirty-one of GREEN ARROW! Please ask your local comic shop to put an order in for you!!
GREEN ARROW issue thirty-one - our final issue - is on FOC this Monday. I put a lot of myself into this standalone one-shot story, so I hope people will pick it up. Covers by the great @muaadib.bsky.social & @skyepatridge.bsky.social. It's been an absolute honor to write this book. 💚💚

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Charlie Brown way!

If you weren’t already on Absolute Wonder Woman, you soon will be.

Get caught up on previous issues now before everyone else tries to do the same!
I can’t tell you what an amazing issue this is. @kellythompson.bsky.social and @cleanlined.bsky.social knocked it out of the park.

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN 15 - out in December.

One of the best series in comics hands down.

I was so excited when Tess started drawing Trek art. I had just finished watching TNG, DS9, and Voyager so i was on the Trek hype. Every charter Tess drew reminded me of a favorite scene from the show. Also Sisko is my favorite captain.

We lost something amazing here. I really hope somehow these same creators can return with a repackaged new #1. In this case that would have made a difference with people who were at the time open to series that had a 1 and the DC All In label.
The final issue of GREEN ARROW's latest run, #31, is on FOC Monday - and @christophcondon.bsky.social and Montos deliver a fitting finale, with a heart-wrenching, done-in-one story that will stick in your brain. Don't forget this come Eisner time, and let your retailer know you want a copy. @dc.com

Ultimates 18 is a last ditch appeal not just to potential super heroes, but the world itself to take up action where it can in whatever form it can. If you're behind on The Ultimates or Ultimate Spider-man or never read Ultimate Wolverine for example get caught up because Endgame is soon!

Superman Unlimited 7 is a Jon Kent spotlight. He takes up a new role and purpose beyond being Superman. And a classic concept is re-introduced. A great thing about @danslott.bsky.social on this series is the ever increasing supporting cast and world building that we will be getting!

It took about three issues, but I have really warmed up to Absolute Flash. I like this Wally and the world around him. Based on what I saw in issue 9, I think this title is about to do something important that none of the other series will get into. This is the science series!

Reading Batman Deadpool after the latest Off Panel Podcast from @davidharper.bsky.social with Grant Morrison as the guest was a great combo. Morrison has a lot of fun which means I had a lot of fun and so will you! Check out both!
