👇 This is a) obviously correct b) resisted by most in the political class because it makes so much of what we do redundant.
My extremely simple heuristic for the current political system is that until you can go food shopping and think prices haven’t increased / things aren’t expensive etc don’t expect any material political continuity.

I feel like it's worth saying from a 'know your audience' POV, that if I was trying to get donors who've historically been big funders of the Conservatives to open their wallets for my party that they might have concerns about, this feels like something I might tell them to comfort them

As New Orleans braces for the arrival of ICE, there is a particular stain that comes with hunting Mexicans and Central Americans in that city. These are the same folks who arrived en masse to help rebuild the city after Katrina and have since become a vibrant part of its renewal.
