Hello. There seems to be another surge of new followers recently so let me re-introduce myself. I am a nature lover living in beautiful Nagano, Japan. Bilingual in English & Japanese. I take photos of lichens, bugs, and plants, and post them on bluesky.

The wildcat under the bed remains mean and wild. My original idea was to let him wind down so I can clip his nails and bathe him, and then take him to the vet. But I think I'm taking him to the vet as is...

This is the most unusual Slime Mold I have ever came across. I needed assistance in identifying it and the verdict was it is a False Puffball Slime Mold. The color is so shiny and unnatural I actually smelled it to make sure it wasn't painted. #Hedgewatch #slimemold #fungi

Last week was tough for me, so on one of my worse days I dragged myself to the park for another nature study. I practiced once more with my viewfinder to improve on my issues with scale.

I didn’t feel much better after, but gradually my symptoms improved with a few days time.

今回カラクサゴケ属を多く見て、ネットとかでイメージしてた葉片の細長いファイヤーパターンみたいなのじゃなくて、ずんぐりと幅広のものがほとんどだったのが印象的でした。
成長しにくいから短いのか、成長しやすいから太いのか、どちらともとれて面白い。サイズ的に後者かなぁ（🍺おかわり）
偽盃点の唐草模様の発達具合とか裂芽の生え具合もそれぞれ違ってて楽しい。
