Whether he's cremated and put in an urn or buried with a traditional tombstone, someone's gonna put a Dilbert starched tie on it. That's just a fact of life.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. It would be slightly more violent, only 12 episodes, and would be fucking amazing.
we often talk about “what anime would you adapt into a movie” but here is a reverse: what movies would you adapt into an anime?

Now's probably the time to mention Libby is expensive for your library to use. The reason there never seems to be a 'comprehensive' library of e-books on your individual library's Libby account is because publishers charge an arm and a leg, and they expire over time/checkouts.

one like = one lukewarm or hot take on horror.

I love High Potential because it will go from being a perfectly competent-looking ABC procedural to the worst greenscreen you've seen in years. Like so bad you've seen small YouTubers do better.

Oooooh, Tarantino got the "cast yourself as the quirky one scene character" thing from Scorsese. Got it.

What with all the news about MTA repairs, a new line from Brooklyn to Queens, and Mamdani fixing the Williamsburg bridge bike ramp, it's a perfect time to put on THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE TWO THREE (1974).

Just soak in the atmosphere of an almost politically polar opposite NYC.

I'm gonna be real with y'all: critical darling directors fall down a peg or two for me whenever their big movie hits bluray and there's not even a single commentary.

Rian Johnson was encouraging your ass to go listen to a commentary IN THEATERS and it WORKED. There's zero excuse not to do one.

The more I chew on it, the more I think my favorite part of Weapons (2025) is the fact the cop character is so beautifully realistic.

He's prone to impulsive decisions. He angers quickly. He never plans ahead. He should've been fired ten times over but he's got connections keeping him employed.

I say this with zero malice towards the franchise or its fans: the reason you know the name Scooby Doo is because Scooby Doo content has historically been produced cheaply and then the marketing dial was cranked to 11.

As such, I fear for the animators on this new show.

Joe Pera Talks With You is perfect television and it's a sin that HBO Max has delisted it and not given Pera's production company the ability to even crank out a DVD.

Tonight's feature presentation:

I was doing belated Christmas at my parent's house and we were just sitting around the table talking about normal shit and occasionally checking our phones to see if anything new developed.

It was reminiscent of 9/11 where we had to just go about our day 'cus 9/11 happened in the morning.
The biggest thing I remember about January 6th is we still had to be productive at work while people tried to overthrow the government lol

Saw a comedy I'd never heard of is getting some screenings this weekend at my AMC.

The second paragraph of the Wikipedia starts "An international co-production of Israel, Poland, and Colombia."

Y'know what? I'm good. I'll let that one cruise past like a ship in the night.

I have a scar on my left leg because in Spring 1998 I was given this A Bug's Life toy. The next day I had to take the trash out.

When I swung the bag past my leg for counter-balance, the razor-sharp opened blister packaging cut through the bag and my shin enough to need stitches.

For those wondering: booting up PBS content on the PBS app now just has "supported in part by viewers like you, thank you."

No more CfPB bumpers.

I'm at a wonderful impasse where I've recently started watching the mega-beloved ones that everyone but I had seen.

Spirited Away is a perfect movie. BUT it comes with that little horror roadbump early on that's great, but not chill put-it-on-whenever energy.

It might be Howl's or Kiki's for me.
In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.

Watching a 2025 compilation episode of Antiques Roadshow and it's a sign our economy is fine and totally working as intended that the vast majority of old clips that get re-evaluated lose half or more their value.
