me, when i have to interact with the real world for even one (1) second
Musician and singer, CMAT from the 'Jamie Oliver Petrol Station' music video. CMAT is dressed in an amazing lime green tank top and matching skirt, with a long-sleeve purple top underneath and a wide black belt. She has red hair and is holding a cornetto ice cream in her right hand. Behind her is a row of four plastic chairs, a tall green plant in a white pot and a grey/white background. CMAT has her hand on her hip and is grimacing at the camera is a forced smile. The caption 'OK, don't be a bitch' is over her head.

Another incredible, devastating story from The End of the World as We Know It anthology that I almost couldn't get through

The African Painted Dog by @catrionaward.bsky.social is BEYOND brilliant but it's a tough read and has some distressing scenes. But my God, it's seared on my brain
Photo taken of a page in The End of the World As We Know It, an anthology of short stories by various authors based on The Stand by Stephen King. This short story is called The African Painted Dog and is by Catriona Ward. The photo also shows a cup of coffee on the floor next to an armchair, a rug, and a pair of converse peeking out over the top of the book because the photo is taken overhead of the book, which is resting on my lap.

This
A thousand times this

It can feel overwhelming to see such need and suffering in the world, but even doing one thing, no matter how small, pushes back a tiny bit of the darkness

We should all follow Mike's great example:

Step 1: do something, literally anything, to help

Step 2: find something that brings you joy and go do that next

I am so mad but focusing on doing what I can right now. Which is donating to @runforsomething.net to put progressives in office, confirming my vote on CA 50, and supporting independent journalism.

Then I'm going to watch the Sharks opening night. And not let That Fucking Guy take that away from me.

the feminine urge to disappear into a vast forest and live in a cosy cabin with blankies, books, unlimited snacks and puppies because *gestures at everything*
Incredible knitted frog by the incredible India Rose Crawford. The little frog is sitting in a wing back armchair covered with a blankie. Books are piled nearby and autumn leaves hang from the window.

If he's awarded the Nobel Peace Prize then I have absolutely zero doubt that the weasel getting into the Large Hadron Collider back in 2016 shunted us onto the worst timeline where up is down, black is white, the sky is the ground and the ground is in hell

Call me crazy but I would think that murdering civilians in international waters would sort of be a deal breaker when they are considering people for a Nobel Peace Prize.

The reason the Right are so invested in the myth that the arts have no value isn’t because the arts don’t generate wealth (they do); it’s that studying the arts teaches people to imagine better ways of judging the value of an idea than by counting how much money it makes…

For what it’s worth:

Speaking as a showrunner with two writers rooms going on now, this article from Ankler is insane. I don’t know who the insider is, but the reporter should call bullshit. This is a GPT press release.
theankler.com
The “GPT-5 pass” has gone from curiosity to mandate. Scripts, trailers, pitch decks are all being filtered through an AI model that remembers every draft and forgets what originality looks like. @erikbarmack.bsky.social on Hollywood’s uneasy reset:
