This sounds way to close to my actual résumé. 😭
It was all over the place. I was hired to help reopen/manage a cafe that turned to a club with a hotel attached. Hotel had a death so had to make sure it wasn’t haunted…🫠 lots of after random moments after that

"...But the casualness of Kelly’s music still being part of people’s everyday lives was a jolting wake-up call for someone who was passing through."
For the past 25 years, Reshona Landfair has lived with the painful aftermath of her name lingering in the public without her consent. She was the 14-year-old girl in the absolutely sickening R. Kelly videotape. Now, she’s reclaiming her name and her story. We should all bear witness.
She Was the Jane Doe in R. Kelly's Infamous Tape. Now, 'I'm Here Today as Reshona'
In her first-ever interview, Reshona Landfair, the girl in R. Kelly's infamous tape, discusses the singer's abuse and her long road to healing.

The wild thing about the cultural impulse to reaffirm that it's okay to be thin is that its inverse isn't present in mainstream discourse. There aren't op eds arguing that it's NOT okay to be thin, or that you SHOULD want to be fat. It's a defense to an attack that simply doesn't exist.

AND ANOTHER THING: lineage ≠ legacy. Your children are not your legacy, what you do with your own life is your legacy.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Never validate somebody’s abuse.

That includes reaction abuse. If you’ve done something to make me mad and you try to make my reaction the problem, that is abuse.

This might be the funniest sentence I've ever read. It's hilariously congruent. Like drinking Kool-Aid and then worrying about the sugar. But. Water. Was. Right. There.

"...Sharper focus"!? No. Nah. Absolutely not. Just admit you didn't see the harm in a lil' fascism at first because the gun wasn't aimed in your direction. But now that you recognize the recklessness and chaos of it all can affect or endanger you—NOW you're ready to drop the F bomb. Fucking cowards.
"Recent events have brought Trump’s governing style into sharper focus," Jonathan Rauch argues. "'Fascist' best describes it, and reluctance to use the term has now become perverse."
Yes, It’s Fascism
Until recently, I thought it a term best avoided. But now, the resemblances are too many and too strong to deny.

Given that his more unstable supporters view his tweets like assassination requests, I'd be less concerned with lawyers and more concerned with hiring security.
Perfectly normal behavior for a sitting president. A big nothing burger. Nothing to see here.

Luther forever.

Love hearing the absolute respect pouring out of Kendrick Lamar for being trusted with a legendary Luther Vandross song, and his sincere desire to do it justice.

Luther forever.

My dad, a very sheltered preacher's kid, is drunk and fumbling his way through the post-prohibition era of Black society: clubs, bootlegging, numbers running (my mom's family ran numbers). And he is comically out of his depth. 😭
