I've gotten all these new followers and familiar faces showing up lately, and I love it. In lieu of introductions, do one thing for me:

I saw a post where someone was saying basically the same thing, that it was about feeling good. I rolled my eyes so hard. Group therapy with artsy signs and cosplay has never been my thing, but gods bless 'em, I guess.

This is a profound insight. Few linguistic and discursive concepts are so profoundly infused with racism and classism as honesty, sincerity, authenticity, and transparency. The lower on the hierarchical ladder, the more likely you are judged to be preternaturally dishonest.

You've clearly traveled if you think it's an American problem. Try being Black in England, Ireland, any part of Scandinavia, Japan, or Canada to start, and then get back to me.

There's literally no information on the main website for followup beyond "we'll have a call to celebrate what we accomplished and plan what's next." Which screams "we don't know wtf we're doing." It's like sitting in a coffee shop bitching but with added traffic complications.

Can someone please explain the point of the No Kings rallies to me? What exactly is the demand being made? Gathering is all well and good, but it's not a movement unless there's a focused, actionable gain being sought and pursued, with contemporaneous, concordant action beyond the event.

Calling them wrong is very different than calling for all flags to be at half mast for days. One thing happened in response to MN, the other is happening in response to today.

Also, Germany was dragged out of fascism by unaliving fascists, in case you missed history class.

You know what? You're right, I don't know your fight, and I don't care enough to search it out. What I know is if folks so intent on saving Palestinians had focused up and shown up, they could have helped mitigate this mess. Saying it's about the country *now* is laughable.

They never do the math. 15% of Black voters out of a total 13% of Black people in the whole country is like a whole barbershop in New York City acted up. Meanwhile, there are at least 5 times as many white folks and more than half their voters failed the assignment.
