It still enrages me how badly the tech industry screwed up USB C.

So you sell cables that can fast charge…but shitty data speeds.

And then ones that have good data speed but can’t fast charge.

Your product marketing sometimes tells you the actual stats of the cables sometimes not.

I’ve been thinking about this today after spending almost 2 hours trying to draw a single pose sketch of a character… being able to tolerate the frustration and push through when it becomes hard (and it almost always does) is the main trait that you can develop to improve your art

God I wanted to be a scene kid so bad. I had to take my snake bites out for my career but everything else was still screaming scene kid.

This was the only room in my house with a good mirror so it's a selfie with a tiny children's bed and an iron behind me. The person in the photo is smiling their hair is quaffed poorly and theyre wearing a 3 quarter sleeves t shirt thats too tight.

I love this newsletter and JB makes some really good points, but more than anything he reminds us to not RELY on big tech, utilise their tools sure, but be flexible and host whatever you can yourself.

Finally: AI cannot do your job, but an AI salesman can 100% convince your boss to fire you and replace you with an AI that can't do your job, and when the bubble bursts, the money-hemorrhaging "foundation models" will be shut off and we'll lose the AI that can't do your job, and you will be long gone, retrained or retired or "discouraged" and out of the labor market, and no one will do your job.
AI is the asbestos we are shoveling into the walls of our society and our descendants will be digging it out for generations:
