When I wasn an angsty teen I wrote a lot of terrible poetry.
I've been feeling an itch to revisit it, but poetry feels earnest and vulnerable in a way that writing doesn't.
I can write anything and be like "its for the narrative" but poetry requires terrifying authenticity.

I did my fastest 5k in over a decade yesterday and I’m very impressed with myself 💅
I’m not a speed runner, I’ve never worked on it or aimed for it, I love distance, but it’s really cool to see my training paying off in surprising ways.
