Finally, I was ready to swear that a human sculptor had made this as a homage, but no, it’s a natural formation called, of all things, GOGOTTE.

Another exodus from the other site, from the sounds of it? If you're looking for the #EarlyModern gang, we've got three starter packs that compile a bunch of them. I can keep adding to the third, just poke.

To anyone with a passion for minerals and/or crystals, the mineral museum (MIME) should be sufficient reason to fly to Beirut. Between this and Jeita grotto, you’re basically a pig in mud.
I’m going to post some pics below…

Reintroducing lynx would be an important step in restoring our nature and biodiversity.

A native species in Scotland before being driven to extinction, the Highlands could support up to 400 of these iconic wildcats.

My neighbour came this morning to check I was okay because of all the additional snow overnight, offering me bread and milk if I needed as he has plenty. That's neighbourly and kind-hearted you're thinking. Now let me tell you he's 83.
A Scottish council has declared a major incident as the region deals with ongoing heavy snow 🚨

The thing with immigration is that it is just life. Civilisations must experience it to progress & prosper. Can’t really prevent it otherwise nations die. It’s human history & the propaganda machine knows it but gamble on the assumption that many others don’t. We’re back to education as a solution.
I'm afraid there *is* an obvious answer: it can't.

Much ink has been spilled over David Wojnarowicz’s work as a visual and performance artist, writer, and, of course, queer activist during the AIDS epidemic. But a new catalog takes on particular resonance today, in an age of growing authoritarianism.

The artist’s photographs of a masked Arthur Rimbaud touring New York offer timely insights about visibility and resistance.

The myth that online spaces are "always goingto be this way" needs to die with every other neoliberal idea. Bad design is not inherent. Moderation is not a new concept. There have been well moderated and designed spaces before. With a large user base, even.

I understand your point, but these platforms and communities have been lifelines for many disabled people (especially those of us who are largely bedridden).

The platforms become toxic in part due to toxic dynamics outside of them that are both replicated and, unfortunately, often rewarded on them.

"Given the size of its Scotland-wide lead, on these figures the party is therefore likely to be ahead in most constituencies. Consequently, despite the fall in its support, the SNP might well retain all but a handful of the 62 constituency seats the party won in 2021."

Why the electoral system matters – Holyrood election 2026
The outcome of any democratic election depends on how voters cast their ballot, yet the electoral system shapes the result too

I want to remind everyone that the US has sanctioned members of the International Criminal Court for going through a formal legal process to identify international leaders who engaged in war crimes, making them vulnerable to arrest.
STEPHANOPOULOS: Why wasn't congressional authorization necessary?

RUBIO: It wasn't necessary because this was not an invasion. We didn't occupy a country. This was an arrest operation.

You don't need to write every day: you just need to keep your imagination alight. Feed it with books, with art, with films and theatre. That way it will always be ready when you need it.

As a gender historian, I want to say re #Venezuela:
A.Way too little is being said about the abduction of Cilia Flores.
B. 80% of you just thought, "Who is Cilia Flores?" because she's only being referred to as "Maduro's wife."
C. Flores is the former head of the V. Nat Assembly & top Chavez aide.
