You know how, when you see children out of control in public places, you think, "WHERE are their parents?"

Well, we find ourselves in a very similar situation. CONGRESS are the parents. WHERE the fuck are they???

From Reverend Rob Schenck, who knows this crowd pretty well:
What drives the MAGA-religious is passion, identity, and even something so transcendent that it elevates a believer’s consciousness to unshakable sublimation to the leader—there are no unforgivable transgressions, and that includes pedophilia and sexual violence.
Why evangelicals couldn't care less about Trump's Epstein scandal
They have a long history of falling for narcissists posing as Saviors.

Great piece from @attackerman.bsky.social and is your first Required Reading for 2026.
As it happens, I have experience with high-level government demands to stop an explosive, accurate story from running, and I also have experience with 60 Minutes spiking a story I was involved in, so I have thoughts about the travesty at CBS. If you want some journalism anecdotes, here are a lot:

One is not required to "swear on the bible."
Some reports are that Zohran Mamdani will swear in as NYC Mayor on a Quran. Whatever he does, nothing will make us forget this gem from the archives. 😅 youtube.com/shorts/Ugj6R...

Attention all those who have WAY more money than @ricksteves.bsky.social ---
It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

This exact description of undocumented workers in Korea could have been written about the US.
The 25-year-old from Vietnam had graduated from college and was looking for a job in her field when she started working at a factory to make ends meet — fear of being found out for working outside the scope allowed by her visa led to tragedy.

A nice touch, indeed.
It would be a nice touch if it turned out to be Hegseth who was recalled to active duty (assuming he can be) and then court-martialed. As well as impeached and removed from office. (And it's still not "Department of War.")

Re the FBI scrubbing the Epstein Files, this is abs true and is a much bigger deal than you might think. Should the dems retake the House and start investigations...
But the overtime creates records - which means we can find out which agents, and get them to testify about both the orders they were given and the details of what they were told to do.

Lots of concerning things in this analysis, particularly this:

"The NYPD responded to an open records request...by claiming that it could not release information about test results or audits from its Palantir-powered predictive policing system because of a nondisclosure agreement with the company."
Without oversight and transparency measures in place, the growing use of AI-powered tools in policing risks infringing on civil rights and civil liberties by amplifying bias and chilling free speech. Our new analysis details the risks and the needed safeguards needed to address them. bit.ly/44nxPlx

Great discussion here with @heather4dems.bsky.social & @gregsargent.bsky.social. Williams points out that "the idea that all of these gerrymanders are unreachable for Democrats or that there is not a path to the majority is just fundamentally not true.” Dems won in many places Trump carried in '24
Trump's corrupt scheme to rig 2026 is suddenly falling apart:

*Court strikes down Texas GOP gerrymander
*Indiana GOP lacks votes to redraw map
*Big Dem win in Virginia could give Ds more seats
