I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.

poor trans women of color routinely get murdered in hate crimes and it's been largely ignored by the media for ages and "trans panic" is still a valid legal defense in some places afaik. but of course fighting back is seen as proof of trans people being an inherently evil social contagion
A trans woman was just sentenced to 15 years in prison for defending herself from an attacker. She wanted no part in the fight and witnesses described her actions as self-defense. With right-wing media constantly portraying her as "evil" since the incident, the trial was over before it began.
