dear US friends, when a sitting president (re)builds the seat of government, it almost always means the president has no intention of leaving at the end of term. your African friends with decades of experience
I took this same shot! Makes a great phone lock screen.

"In the two years since the state started charging a 4% surtax on incomes over $1 million, the effort has created a $5.7 billion windfall, with the surplus being used to fund bridge repairs, bolster literacy programs and address the transportation system’s budget deficit."

The Epstein Ballroom it is
Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!
Not sure how but I got my copy and I’m halfway through. This is an incredible resource for those of us who haven’t been in this a long time. Inspiring to see how experienced people have worked through conflict and overwhelming situations, but haven’t given up. We need this now, thanks Kelly. 💜
Less than 2 weeks until publication. I’m still busy as hell working in concert with my community to respond to a federal invasion and regular attacks on our neighbors and their defenders. Any help getting the word out about this book, which I believe can help us all right now, is deeply appreciated.
My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.
My wife got it twice in one month! So sorry. 💜

I'm not sure you can get more marie antoinette than taking away food stamps before thanksgiving while you build a gold and marble dance hall so the other crooks can bring bribe you over a badly-cooked (argentinian) steak
Thanks for this thread. Are there examples where mutual aid has taken over on the production side?
Trump’s “Let them eat cake” moment. One would hope.
the symbolism of “Trump destroying the White House for a overpriced luxury vanity project, during a government shut down, days after a historically-large mass demonstration against his regime called “No Kings”’ would be rightly viewed as laying it on a little thick if it was in a work of fiction
Is there a truth out feed I can add?
Unless I am dying I will self transport.
Abolish all prisons. There is no humane prison.
This article is a reminder that "abolish ICE" isn't just about the agents now in our streets, but is about a sprawling carceral system that must be dismantled completely. There must be consequences for politicians who try to spend a single dollar more on this.

True story! They play Jazz and I’m not a huge Jazz nerd so sometimes it’s hard to appreciate but this was nice. So proud of them.
In NY visiting my kid and a Grammy award winning artist said they are a great musician.

Something maybe worth noting is that all the frog costumes and signs and good-natured memeing came about because a wide spectrum of Americans saw someone in direct, brave confrontation with ICE—getting pepperballed and standing their ground—and thought “that’s awesome. That person is a hero”

Listen, over 300+ people showed up for a No Kings protest in ANGOLA, INDIANA. There is a whole part of Indiana waiting to be activated. We have never been all red. So what are we going to do with that information? I wish I could say. But I have Hope.
Incredible. If you grew up in Indiana, you know what a big deal this is.
