I’m facilitating the rehoming of two sweet cats who belonged to a friend who recently passed unexpectedly. They deserve a stable place to land. 2-3 year old bonded pair, one male one female. Please send me a DM if you have the interest and ability to care for these sweet voids. Located in Oakland.

If so, I’d love to chat with you for a story I’m working on about how it could impact the industry.

🐁 Very concerning finding: Psilocybin promotes brain tumour growth

Authors caution against use of 5-HT2A agonists like psilocybin in patients with glioma, "given the profound and sustained tumor growth-promoting effects observed."

Extends to other serotonergic drugs like LSD.

New study challenges the idea of a unified decision network: Neuropixel recordings in primate OFC showed robust encoding during value-based choices but near-silence during perceptual decisions, even when rewards are at stake. #RewardSignals #neuroskyence www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Selective engagement of the primate orbitofrontal cortex during value-based but not perceptual decisions
A fundamental question in neuroscience is whether the brain uses specialized sub-systems for different types of decisions or relies on a unified decision-making network. The orbitofrontal cortex (OFC)...

Asking for some help.

I'm working with someone who is designing a pilot to study the uptake of PFAS chemicals by mushrooms for purposes of remediation.

Does ANYONE have a contact for a mycologist or someone who knows about mushrooms? If so, can you point them my way? Many thanks.

A lot of interest in PET imaging of synaptic markers in humans after psychedelics.

This preprint from Knudsen lab may be the first. People treated in therapeutic-like setting had more intense experiences and greater increases in synaptic density than those dosed in MRI scanner. tinyurl.com/36vv6a9v
