Tarantino’s two-part seven-hour adaptation of Blood Meridian would be incredible.
I would wipe Rise of Skywalker from continuity and make tony gilroy write the new end to the sequel trilogy. It can be as bleak as he wants it to be bsky.app/profile/benj...
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

I feel like it is culturally important to note that I recently played an old episode of the Simpsons on Disney+ for some kids and then a random newer episode and the kids, unprompted, were like “how come this isn’t as funny?” so it’s not just nostalgia we are correct

Im really glad we found a lawyer, a mortgage company ceo, and a hedge fund guy talk at eachother about why the rest of us can’t afford healthcare, I’m sure they’re really going to get to the bottom of it.

Been saying this for years and even debated Tim Wu on some radio show about 7-8 years ago. Antitrust is not the effective way to rein in the tech industry. The legal arguments make no sense. The moral arguments make no sense. Focus on specific wrongs, remedy those wrongs, through new law if need be.
Here's one idea: rather than constant complaining about Big Tech antitrust issues: come up with better laws that take into account the actual realities of the 21st century.
Failing to Realize Why Modern Antitrust Keeps Failing

Anecdotal only but: nearly every “normal” (non-techie) I know who’s really gotten into AI chatbots are the same people who were chronically addicted to Facebook. It seems to thrive in the same blend of narcissism and detachment from an often uncomfortable or sad reality.

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

Annals of media consolidation: A publicist at a longtime nonprofit publishing house sent me a book galley and noted she's among employees losing jobs 12/31 when it's eaten by a bigger fish. The horrible kicker: I noticed she had to write the press release for the acquisition news. #publishing

I mean at this point — knowing how long and how deep this effort was, leveraging massive networks of fake accounts — the real question is:

How much of MAGA was ever a native idea versus a coercive influence op preying on bias and weakness?
A reminder that this pattern of activity including the stupid handles and bio lines and emojis was catalogued in the Senate reports on Russia’s election interference in 2016 — a thing which actually happened!

I just spent 15 minutes asking both ChatGPT and Gemini to do this bit both refused. Hilariously, ChatGPT failed enough times that it then asked me to buy a Plus subscription so it could generate more images because I’d used up my free ones. Decided to uninstall and walk the dog instead.
