"Lower cost products"
You mean like those sketch-ass car and homeowner insurance companies that are optimized to take money and not off claims.
How well would the lower cost product have worked for Scalise when he was shot?
Scalise: "Everybody complains, 'Why when I watch TV do I see this Gecko lizard & emu & all these animals out there selling car insurance & homeowners insurance? Why aren't they selling healthcare?' That's bc federal laws prohibit people to have choices for lower cost products for health insurance"

Huh, so yesterday I was supposed to get Apricot Honey and instead got Mango Ginger and then Mango Ginger again today.

I'm sad to miss more apricot, but mom is happy.

Surprised people are buying Bovino's narrative of how he chose the CBP (inspired by a movie, really?). When what almost certainly happened was that he couldn't get hired by the NPS or the Forest Service, so he went with CBP, hoping for a lateral transfer.

There's a reason Doctors, Dentists, and Veterinarians are easy marks for Ponzi schemes and similar grifts.
I'm told that Roger Marshall is a medical doctor, like with a degree and everything, and yet every single time he opens his mouth to discuss health care it's like they pulled a random guy out of the beer line at a Royals game.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

Rewatched some Star Trek tonight.
Still wild how a show about warp drives and weird nebulae ends up teaching the cleanest lessons about being human.
Every episode says the same thing in its own way:
‘Be curious. Be brave.

…Try not to fire phasers unless you really have to.”

And now, a reading from the gospel according to St. Bastard...
She compares the boat strikes to Jesus breaking the sabbath to heal someone.

If a Democrat had said anything remotely like "come up with another name for the NFL stuff" it would be a 3 month long news cycle about elitist bubbles and how much they hate Real America (tm)
There would be endless PA Diner safaris and think pieces on which NFL star they get to run for Senate.
Trump: "When you look at football in the US, soccer -- we seem to never call it that, because we have a little bit of a conflict with another thing that's called football. But when you think about it, shouldn't it really be called football? We have to come up with another name for the NFL stuff."

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

You know, everyone, the only power our disgraced and disgraceful president really wants is the voluntary obedience of cowards & grifters. If people don’t do his illegal & insane demands, he falls apart.

Courage. Use it.

The human need to contort reality to fit into a frame of normality is the goddamdist thing.

People here are saying things that sound so good if you ignore everything happening outside the door.

My bad, Mark Montgomery stepped up, albeit in the question session.
Will National Security Law practitioners say one word about this next month at their annual gathering in DC?

All this talk of the rule of law is lovely and inspiring right up until you remember that most of the event sponsors are law firms that rolled over and showed the belly.

Sometimes example is the last and best service you have.
If you decide you have to stay on to protect your people after your honest legal advice was disregarded in favor of an illegal and/or immoral act, how much protection do you really think you can offer?

There's a QR code to submit anonymous questions to the Ethics in Nat Sec law practice panel.
Because we're presuming now that there are necessary questions people can't put their names to.
Dunno, seems...not great.

No uniformed military here this year and no JAG recruiting tables.
It's not a surprise but it's sad all the same.
