This evening, the MMS Music City Edition kicked off with a welcome reception by the pool at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with community friends and meet new faces. Tomorrow will be a packed day with sessions 👌

Heading to @mmsmoa.bsky.social next week? Don't forget there's an awesome charity raffle at each event, with lots of rad things to choose from while supporting a great cause!

Here's a sneak peek of my raffle contribution for #MMSMusicCity. Yes, it's printed. And yes, it's playable. #MMSMOA
The head assembly of a 3d printed ukulele with the MMS logo inset in a silver color at the top of the black head. Four red hexagonal tuning pegs stick out and connect to four silver tuning gears, each with a corresponding string tune (G, C, E, and A) letter in yellow. Nylon strings extend to a red color fretboard at the bottom of the cropped image.

Please stop using Private browser sessions for cloud admin accounts

Look, we all know we shouldn't be using admin accounts while signed into our productivity account, but if you're gonna do it, at least use browser profiles so you can enforce compliance

TIL you can credit co-authors in your Git commit message, and they will be tagged and credited as a contributor. This is a great way to give credit to somebody who helped you think through the process or shared code with you through other channels. 🧑‍💻🫴

Not every device can run Tailscale. But this teensy router can put more gadgets on your tailnet, and fix some travel frustrations: tailscale.com/blog/tailsca...

In addition to ASL interpreters having an important job, they're also (sometimes) more interesting to watch than those for whom they interpret.

Mad props for _any_ interpreter, TBH. I admire their ability to do what they do as seamlessly as they make it seem.

Shout out to the ASL interpreters at rock shows (or any show, really). That can't be easy. Especially if you are dancing/grooving while you sign.

Those sound like a good score -- we're just rotating those out of our "first life cycle" in our fleet into other uses. Decent everyday machines!

I heard from an authoritative source that the official notice of termination for NASNTI funding had been received. 😿🤬

After a couple chaotic months, I spent time prepping for #MMSMusic that's less than a month away! 🎉

Nashville edition tchotchke's are printing, so if you're attending come get one from me! Sadly, the lederhosen aren't coming to Nashville; this clip will have to suffice! @mmsmoa.bsky.social #MMSMOA

I had a [now] late colleague who had a very ... peculiar ... way of using language and vocabulary. It became challenging at times to discuss details, especially as that person was "tech-adjacent" to my role and our unit.

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

Something to consider is letting folks who use accessibility tools know about this as a screen reader would not care about the color of text and relay this information verbatim to the user.

I know this prompt comes from a book of faces convo (and not you directly), but it's an interesting angle.

Meh, it'll be fine. I just don't want to be on a ladder during heat and humidity! 🥵

My old workhorse is an Ender 3 (the old base model) with a few upgrades over time (namely motherboard and auto-leveler, but some others too). For most it's trash, but mine's the diamond.

Truth. Most wouldn't call my printer "good," but I have it so dialed in and understand it deeply so that I can go months without printing and spawn something almost instantly.

Case in point: I'm designing/modding/printing brackets for my permanent outdoor lights so they go up before it gets cold.
