the way rfk says this I KNOW he has a breastfeeding kink
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

if you’re worried about the cost of living in america, you’re probably not wealthy enough to move abroad lmfao and, in any case, your taxes are going up once you move to europe!
In a recent survey, a research firm found that nearly half of its respondents had considered leaving the U.S., citing politics and the cost of living as their main factors. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
How to Leave the U.S.A.
In the wake of President Trump’s reëlection, the number of aggrieved Americans seeking a new life abroad appears to be rising. The Netherlands offers one way out.

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

It's not a coincidence Scalia came up with all this stuff at a time when Republicans had won all but one of the last five presidential elections but had not held both houses of Congress in decades.

That's not what they're learning. What they're learning is that the mass public hates lockdowns and the consequences of them, and it's politically easier just to let it rip.

This is very bad, but it's not 'capitalism' at work here. It's a mass public with bad priorities.

Listen, we need to recognize the back to office push as part of the revolt to reestablish hierarchies that has given us everything bad that has happened in the world since roughly May 2023. Liberals should not be aiding nor abetting this revolt in any way.

it's interesting how little the gop messaging apparatus, from the press secretary to election mailers, deviates from "i know you are but what am i"

LESLEY STAHL: You contributed to the toxic culture. You were out there pounding, insulting people

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: You've contributed to it as well

STAHL: I want you to respond to what you have done in terms of insulting people

MTG: I'd like for you to respond to that

My theory about municipal sclerosis is that it's just easier to credit claim with your constituents by opposing things than actually improving the services they use.

E.g. it's far simpler for LA council members to have a tantrum over the gondola than actually doing things for people without cars.

A ridiculous coda to this story: A USTA source tells me that Trump wanted to hand out the trophy to the winner of the US Open men's final but the organizers said no and compromised by displaying the trophy on the balcony of the Rolex suite where he was sitting.
NEW — I wrote about attending the US Open with Trump in attendance, and what the tepid reaction to a fascist at a sporting event says about this country.
Why I had to see Trump at the US Open with my own eyes
Staring straight across the court at a fascist is bad for the soul, but certainly instructive.
