so monumentally stupid an idea I thought this was a Tom King comic
This bit I found enormously confusing. Doomsday Clock suggests that Superman is *so* important to the multiverse that it keeps rebooting itself to ensure there's sort of a Superman for every era, but -- starting in the fuckin' Proterozoic? Just rebooting and rebooting until humans evolve? Baffling.

Sal Buscema, beloved comics artist, passes away

Sal Buscema, a veteran comics artist and part of the famed Buscema family of Marvel artists, has passed away. He was 89 years old when he died on Friday, and the news broke today, on what would have been his 90th birthday.

Re-reading the early issues of Absolute Martian Manhunter, it's similarities to Bugonia are interesting, would also say it's handling of the subject matter, examining themes are more cutting/elegant

Probably one of the last works by Kirby, a cover to a Glenn Danzig comic. Never knew about this until the other day.

Reading some of Rick Veitch's dream journal comics Rare Bit Fiends from the 90s. This bit featuring Crumb hits differently especially after Tales of Paranoia

if only there had been a movement and momentum several years ago to downsize police budgets, clear out the white supremacists and de-militarize local law enforcement
The elephant in the room is that mayors and governors across the country have very good reason to question the loyalty and allegiances of the state and local police forces and that’s one of the impediments to doing anything about the current occupations

I put The Eternals on while making dinner (Kumail on Stavvy's podcast got me curious) and wow it's even worse than it's reputation.

I think it's the first movie where this was no longer true

Fandom proves itself illiterate with the chorus of "Kirby is a bad writer."
wait, is this implying that the only reason Darkseid goes to earth and breaks the treaty with highfather, because Scott Free went to earth first?

Did Scott's desire for freedom cause the greatest war in existence?

did Darkseid PLAN for Scott to become a heroic revolutionary

all to get his war?
