Most of us feel like we should somehow singlehandedly be able to fix the world and when we can’t, it’s crushing. That’s how you know you’re a decent person.

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

in trying to understand what makes ICE and CBP so dangerous right now, it is tempting to imagine some new lack of training or experience or professionalism—and not grapple with the truth that a white nationalist movement has put more power and force behind their existing mission

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."

Indoor tanning is trending among Gen Z. A new study finds tanning bed users not only have a much higher risk of melanoma, they also have DNA damage linked to cancer across nearly their entire skin.

Also applies firmly to the “those people deserve it” types whether referring to smug coastal folks talking about the south or Midwest or our media about any non white country or Europeans and Australians about us.

You ain’t solving the world’s problems with more problems.
The thing about the “acktually armed resistance is the only way to revolution” reply guys is that the ones who aren’t feds have no plans for armed revolution: they just want an excuse to stay at home and jerk off while feeling morally superior to the people doing the actual work or resistance.

From this moment forward (and before, but clearly now):

-If you work for ICE.
-If you vote for money for ICE.

You are complicit. This is the gestapo. You're on the wrong side. You can't pretend not to know.

Minneapolis Police Chief O'Hara: "The video speaks for itself. We have identified this person - 37-year-old, white male, resident of the city. The only interaction that we are aware of with law enforcement has been for traffic tickets and we believe he is a lawfully gun owner with a permit to carry"

Prosecute ICE is where Dems should be at next.

ICE agents are America's failures, basically indistinguishable from lazy school shooters, losers who want to play Call of Duty on our streets against people who can't fight back. They have unlimited ammo and toss tear gas like they're pressing L1. They have to be defunded and jailed. All of them.

ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city.

If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.

Your country rejected a constitutional amendment to recognize Indigenous peoples by 20 points.

This *is* who all of us are. In every country, people strive for a fairer and more just world. It's just that Americans are loud, and people across the world hear about what's (very) wrong in the country
One problem that Americans have to get past is that this *is* who they are.

It’s not an aberration - this is what the US society is.

All that time kidding yourself about being the greatest nation on earth you have been murdering your own citizens and those in other countries.

Bitch yelling at us from Rupert Murdochs front lawn about how we are poisoned fruit.

Stop blaming citizens for corrupt leaders. It’s shitty

Fucking finally Durnin and Schumer have gotten of their fucking asses and stopped being total idiots
Sen. Dick Durbin, another one of the 8 Democratic YES votes on Nov funding bill, is a NO on this DHS measure: “I will not vote to fund the illegal DHS and ICE operations that terrorize Chicago, Minneapolis, and many other communities.”

This bill doesn’t have the votes.

Calling as soon as I land. @governor.ny.gov I have been wildly impressed with your leadership in the last year. You have made just a series of astounding policy happen, and have buried the ghosts of your horrifying predecessor.

Keep stepping up. No support for Nazis.
If you're in New York, please take two minutes right now to call Governor Hochul and tell her to support and sign New York 4 All, which would prevent state and local agencies from collaborating with ICE.

This is important.

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.
