The Kennedy Center has had multiple recent renovations. The Eisenhower Theater was renovated 15 years ago. The Opera House less than 20. The Terrace Theater was renovated just over 5 years ago. The only space that is due for a renovation is the Concert Hall. The Expansion was completed in 2019.
Since a lot of the coverage is omitting this detail: The Kennedy Center HAD a $250 million renovation and expansion just a few years ago, in 2019.
