Obssesive reader, a sarcastic woman who loves music, art, wine and Monty Python, slightly unhinged when it comes to Twilight. Sorry.

My mum, Jo, did some really beautiful linoprints for the seven books I wrote for Unbound. She was never paid for any of them. In one book they even forgot to credit her for her work then, when I gently pointed this out, they sent her some flowers as an apology.

Since October, I have been reporting on the effects of Trump's mass deportation agenda in NYC.

I have found heavy ICE machinery and a resistance network full of regular people defending migrants

Our series on the "Undocumented Underground" kicks off today and I hope you will give it a read.
TPM has spent nearly two months on the front lines of Trump's mass deportation push in New York. We found masked agents, chaos in the courts, and a quietly growing movement that's fighting back.

Look out! The Evil Queen is apparently up to her fruit shenanigans again. I was NOT tempted by the "innocent" fruit left on top of the mailbox, I poked it with a stick and ran away screaming, and so should you!

(I needed to add the subtitles myself because *holy appropriate song*, Batman!)

It’s time to talk about my cat. To which you might be saying, “Chuck, I didn’t know you had a cat!” and I’d respond with, “I didn’t know I had a cat either…

Another thing, after watching After the Hunt I wondered, is that how American academics really speak today, or is the movie dialogue an equivalent of the computer-tech speak in action movies that has my engineer friend groan-whisper-hiss "Shudduuup" next to me?

I finally watched After the Hunt and it was like eating a roll of very dry biscuits. Excellent actors but the characters were all very disagreeable, and all in the same way: completely wrapped up in themselves. It made for very little real interaction/communication. Left me parched for some LIFE.

Unsolicited opinion no 324: If anyone decides to make a movie about Ursula von der Leyen, I absolutely think that Kate Dickie should play her.

I finally watched the latest #TheFantasticFour movie and while I was relieved to see that baby CGI has advanced since Reneesmee's days frankly I found the most unbelievable thing about the plot was how Sue Storm wasn't nursing the new baby 24/7. That was what nearly killed ME.
