Turnout figures this low (32.65%) raise serious questions about the democratic legitimacy of NZ local government.

It would be easy to say those who didn't vote have no right to complain, but it is clear there are significant problems that leave people feeling the process is futile.

Look at all the mega churches around the world, and the pattern is repeated.

60 Minutes has looked at mega churches in Australia & tge US; @davidfarrier.com at churches in NZ... the pattern is there always.

Just like Gloriavale, Destiny Church is manipulating individuals and whānau under the guise of Christianity.

This is why I have opposed being part of organised religion for the last 25 years.
Like Wayne says, the middle man gets in the way of a relationship with God.

Māori ward poll results: 25 to go, 17 to stay. Five regional councils polled voters and only Greater Wellington Regional Council voted to keep its Māori ward.

The Olive green areas are councils where citizens voted down Māori wards (the little blue blob in the middle is Kirikiriroa, which voted by a whisker to retain theirs).
Coincidentally those Olive green areas also pretty accurately represent land confiscated by the crown after the Waikato wars.

My genius financial plan is to maintain high loads of debt because our financial genius government has fucked the local economy so badly that the reserve bank is hitting historical levels of interest rates cuts so when the AI bubble bursts they'll drop to negative interest and pay me for my debt!
