I just want to know which British person broke that Yglesias guy’s heart, because he has a focus like Cato the Elder when it comes to the UK.

Joined a Facebook group about PC advice and a heck of a lot of people were conned into buying their kids e-waste for Christmas by marketplace sellers on Amazon who threw together 10+ year old components and stuck it in a case with RGB lights.

I wish the internet was more about people 3D printing whistling mortar bombs for their very happy dogs to chase than arseholes secretly filming unsuspecting people for grifting and humiliation but I guess that ship has sailed

Happy Meldrew Point Day, Wil Wheaton! Today you are 19,537 days old and have reached your Meldrew Point - the age of Richard Wilson on the day One Foot In The Grave was first aired on Jan 4, 1990. I don’t believe it!

I would like to gently request that AI pharmacy bots stop trying to kill my mother
Recently, I got a notice from my new pharmacy provider that they wouldn’t cover my thyroid medication and bizarrely suggested insulin instead! I need my thyroid medication. Then a couple of days ago, they called and told me to disregard the letter they had sent. AI is such a time and labor saver!

Virgin Media contract ends next month. Better start shopping around for broadband soon. Wonder what the best provider is these days (fttp, no tv package or phone line required).

I love Blackadder II. It remains one of the BBC's best things ever. Watch in the first episode though... when Flashheart nuts Percy clean out of the doors at the wedding ceremony. The entire set looks like it's coming down...
Decent article about B7. It does resort to the tired trope of "wobbly sets" though. It's always sci-fi shows that get this treatment. No-one ever mentions Fawlty Towers, where the sets moved like the Tacoma Bridge.
How Blake's 7 was massively ahead of its time when it first aired – and why it fits perfectly in the modern TV landscape
Decades before TV embraced anti-heroes, moral grey areas and brutal endings, Blake’s 7 was already rewriting the rules.

I remember driving across the replacement bridge in Tacoma (wife's hometown) and was almost disappointed that it didn't have the slightest noticeable wobble.
