Last year, I went through endometrial cancer. Maybe the only bright spot was that I didn't suffer financial difficulties for being off work for two months, thanks to the state Family and Medical Leave Act, which Sen. Winter championed. The FMLA program worked to perfection.

On a personal note: Sen. Winter was an incredibly kind person. She always wanted to help. She often brightened my day at the Capitol.

Things I did not anticipate this morning; I’m 18 mos postop after a hysterectomy. I’m flying for 1st time and apparently my lack of a uterus triggers TSA to do a pat down of my genital region. What a humiliating way to start a trip!

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:
- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."
