Last year, I went through endometrial cancer. Maybe the only bright spot was that I didn't suffer financial difficulties for being off work for two months, thanks to the state Family and Medical Leave Act, which Sen. Winter championed. The FMLA program worked to perfection.

On a personal note: Sen. Winter was an incredibly kind person. She always wanted to help. She often brightened my day at the Capitol.

She didn't shy away from tough questions and she was fierce in her beliefs. She was brave in coming forward in 2018 to report sexual harassment.

From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.

NEW: @propublica.org investigated the Chicago apartment raid where kids were zip-tied and citizens detained for hours. They find:

- NONE of the arrested were criminally charged
- NO evidence the building was "filled with TdA terrorists."

That Bari Weiss has no standards should surprise no one familiar with both her "work" and actual journalism.
