Some arguments are about system and others are about setting/flavor.
The arguments I hate are the ones that focus on 5e being "woke". They don't always use that word, but you can tell they want to.

That would be like people who started in 2019, telling us how we don't know what it was like in the olden days.

It's quite the Ouroboros. Reading The Elusive Shift really helped me realize that some of these arguments/disagreements have honestly been present from the nascent days of the hobby and still flare up from time to time! 😂

Converting my 5e adventures to Old-School Essentials is a fun puzzle, but sometimes there is no direct translation.
I make use of many unique monsters and variations of monsters in my modules, and for 5e this often relies upon damage types and other 5e specific mechanics that don't match OSE.
