The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

IMHO Josh Shapiro and Gavin Newsom have zero chance of winning the presidency. Nicole Wallace had JS on today and I am not impressed. Newsom is loud and pushy and Shapiro is safe and boring. We need a strong leader like Mark Carney of Canada. Is there such a person in the Democrat party?

Bovino is just the patsy - a noxious and odious fall guy. Stephen Miller is the architect and prime mover of the whole thing. Everything they do is at his direction - often after his threats. As long as he runs policy in the WH, nothing will change no matter how many Bovinos come and go.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

In the early 1930s the SA was roughing people up, creating chaos in neighborhoods, seeking to terrorize with the occasional killing. By the late 1930s it had been supplanted by the SS, which was much better trained.
Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

After the midterms, the Democrats should legislate an audit to look into the background of all ice agents. They could put it in a must pass debt ceiling or other budget bill. But what department could do the audit? The FBI? Trump would never let that happen.

My year-end column, on Trump’s Golden Age of Awful:
No matter how low one’s expectations were for 2025, the most striking thing about the year when Donald Trump became President again is how much worse it turned out to be. @sbg1.bsky.social assesses the damage.

Nothing to see here. This is definitely a normal post that perfectly demonstrates appropriate behavior for a man with grave responsibilities to the nation and absolutely, positively does not show psychological derangement and incapacity to serve as president under section 4 of the 25th Amendment.

Another reminder of the staggering stench of corruption flowing out of this presidency. He’s not working for you — he’s working for those who are willing to sell out our democracy and Constitution for personal profit.

This should not be normalized.

Todd Blanche’s appearance on Meet the Press was disgraceful but clarifying. The “Department of Justice” is Donald Trump’s defense team. There can be no presumption they’re acting in good faith. One has to approach them as one approached a Soviet “Department of Justice”—as propaganda, not justice.
