I revere experts who share their perspective with the world the way that Ruth does. If you care at all about reducing gun violence, you should be following her. She's the real deal.
This is a post about the trauma of gun violence. How it ripples through communities, and how one shooting impacts countless people. It’s about how once the shooting is over the trauma of that shooting lasts forever.

AI is not the solution to a lack of brilliant ideas. There is no shortage of brilliant ideas. There's just woefully selfish assholes withholding money from all the people with brilliant ideas to prop up a giant tech bubble they hope will birth some sort of 4chan deity before it destroys the world.

Just found this quote on the youngest’s old montessori birthday poster thing and now my heart is melting:

(In the family section)

“Mama: is special. Her colors are the best colors.”

My doc appt at the fancy new Brain Health facility is tomorrow. It has been a bit since i felt hopeful about an appointment.
More community and psych supports available for the damaged place my brain has landed in.

Resting as much as i can today.
And making a list of any bigger changes.

So I don’t like either song Bastille covers in this mashup…
But the end result is kind of magic in how changes the tone of everything.

(Maybe it’s just a “Daddy’s Girl was an alcoholic thing” though

If you’re not a Hoosier could you please share this post for any of followers who may be?

There is NO DIGNITY in being expected to die a tediously slow & terrible death when we have the ability to empower people to end their suffering and exit their lives on their own terms.
HOOSIERS: PLEASE click the link to support 2026’s End of Life Option Act (HB1011).

I spent much of 2025 caring for a friend who suffered far too long from Leptomeningeal cancer before her death in Sept. Watching her suffer needlessly was devastating.

Lineage in the Snow
short video

My artwork, Lineage is so beautiful in the snow. As I recorded, fences and shadows of fences kept getting in the way. Fitting symbolism for a person with a uterus seeking freedom in this world.

Rob Reiner was my childhood…moreso even than Spielberg or Lucas.

I can’t find words for what happened; maybe because the story is too familiar to that of a family i knew in recovery.

But it feels heavy. And we lost one of the best of us.
I know that.

The phrase "it'll end in tears" is usually offered as a warning by someone predicting disaster.

"It will end in tears" is best used to name good things — especially good lives.

When a good thing ends, we weep.

I tried to do a little drawing of what i kind of saw for when the “kind lady” came in the room to warn him.

The Great Migration Built Harlem: Then Jazz Lit the Fuse
The Great Migration was not only a demographic event but an aesthetic engine: a mass movement that rerouted memory, labor, and aspiration into new urban geographies, where Black life had to be re-seen and re-sounded under modern conditions.
The Great Migration Built Harlem: Then Jazz Lit the Fuse
This lesson is for Tony, because I can’t separate what I know from the way he taught me to feel it.
