Testing Godot 4.6 last release candidate and the UI is SLICK

The amount of information packed while still being readable is awesome. The removal of some useless delimiters + the new colors make the editor look very "professional" and elegant

Not sure of the font, but I might grow into it

We’re getting close to Dawnfolk’s first anniversary on February 13th! 🎂

We’re 17 reviews away from reaching 500 reviews and the "Overwhelmingy Positive" rating on Steam.

If you haven’t left a review yet, it would help so much (link in bio and 👇). Thank you! 🙏 #indiegame

Funny thing - when they announced the PoP remake was dead, my first thought was 'Ah well, at least we have Motorslice soon'.

Seems the Motorslice devs had the same thought.
devastating news for Prince of Persia fans

Thinking about this again for no reason at all

RTO is purely about emotionally stunted manchildren wanting to feel powerful, IMO.

It's the only thing that really adds up for me, because no logical justification exists except in the extreme short-term.
I think every rationale for why capitalists want RTO is post-hoc. Investments, efficiency, big brother-ing employees, etc.

The real reason is an emotional one: physically seeing a group of people who have to pay attention to you and do what you say feels extremely good when you're a sociopath

Do you have a #Godot 4.x game on #Android using Vulkan Mobile?

We recently fixed a number of Vulkan crashes for some mobile GPUs which will be in 4.5.2 and 4.6.

I'd like to figure out if there are more Vulkan crashes in the wild that we can prioritize.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Mark it.

Two weeks into 2026 and I already know about more games industry layoff waves than in all of 2021, impacting about five times as many people that we know of.

We're still so far from 'normal'

We need to talk about this openly. Don't struggle alone. 💞

Why is everyone suddenly talking about crunch and burnout in gamedev ?

I haven't watched yet the recently release noclip on Disco Elysium, is it related ?
You don’t understand, we gotta burn out senior experienced devs, so we can keep having the same 5 discourses on a loop. There is a very real risk that if we treat people with respect and manage them well that we might have to stop re-debating basic terminology and practices.

Cool Godot thread on debugging+fixing a native renderer issue
Rift Riff had a high crash rate on Android (3-5% of sessions, yikes) due to Godot's implementation of the Vulkan renderer. This throttled our game's discoverability on the algorithm-based Google Play; very bad, obviously.

So… we fixed all the crashes!👇🏼🧵 thread on HOW, below.
