One important thing states can do in this crisis: direct the state's law enforcement to follow higher state standards on use of force, civil rights, and accountability, not the far lower standards of federal agencies like ICE, when cooperating with federal law enforcement.
My Office issued new guidance to ensure Maryland law enforcement follows state law when working with federal agencies. Maryland officers serve our communities, not Washington politics. They must uphold our state’s standards for use of force, civil rights, and accountability — always.

With all the horrors, it's easy to forget that progress is a thing.
The year I was born. we basically had no idea why cancers happened and now we understand the underlying force behind it with 100% clarity and the molecular forces behind it with many orders of magnitude more resolution.
