Maybe the writer *didn't* think about the alarming implications of having a whole race that is deemed alright to kill because they're born evil, but that wouldn't exactly absolve them in my opinion.

Most of what I'm seeing about it are excuses. "They're just demons" which is pretty much saying "don't think about it" which is a big problem.

Whatever the narrative purpose ends up being (idk something about community vs strong individuals maybe, or juxtaposing the value in living and empathy against the exact opposite), I don't like this execution right now.

None of it makes any sense to me and it's even more annoying that only Frieren is able to identify this, making everyone else look stupid.

They can communicate sincerely with each other using human language, but it's repeatedly described as a tool exclusively to deceive humans so which is it??

Not a huge fan of this ontologically evil race introduced in episode 7 of Frieren. Not only are they evil but they're smart enough to develop language to trick humans and communicate with each other, but they're still too dumb to understand logic like how one human is not the same as another.

Yeah it’s cool! I like that the show wants to talk about valuing your relationships and seeing the beauty in the world with the limited amount of time you have.
