Hello, Bluesky.

I'm Tetra Yon, VN game dev, writer, musician, and visual artist.
I mostly post doodles and snippets of my work here while I develop my games.

My dev studio account is @studiovual.bsky.social, and you can find me on itch.io and Bandcamp.
I don't use Spotify or any other streaming service, so here's the top 9 songs I've listened to this year using the play count statistic from my local music library.

Should be noted that some of these I only picked up a few months ago

I was actually going to post a drawing related to Chaos;Head today but decided against it

Not that I ever expect my music to blow up, but I would prefer to never put my stuff on the Big streaming services. Just as a mater of principle. I really don't even mind lending my tracks out for other projects as long as I get credit depending on circumstances

people seem shocked when my response, or anyone else's, to "I can't afford to buy your album, where can I stream it?" is "I would really rather you just pirate it" but like, to put it bluntly, a lot of musicians (especially smaller ones) have a genuine ideological opposition to algo streaming

🌒 YDSP Wednesday 🌘

Development on the second game's still coming, but sometimes I have to switch gears.

Here's a creature of sorts.

people pirate most stuff when they're broke as shit and buy all they can when they're not, except for all the shit you can't see without piracy 'cause no one sells it. people pay when they have the cash and, increasingly, they have no cash. blame The End Of Mass Prosperity In The Imperial Core.
piracy discourse is so exhausting and passe, but i will observe that every truly great collector of physical media I know has a big harddrive of pirated books and movies. you literally cannot have one without the other

A lot of indie bookstores will buy 1–3 copies of a book, especially graphic novels as a test to see how they sell. If they sell even 1–3 copies, it opens the door not just for a reorder of that book, but for more books in that format in general.
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
