Last week I was in a remote part of northern Montana and saw the most glorious intact shortgrass prairie. Blooming with carpets of prairie smoke and pussytoes, wildflowers everywhere, shimmering with butterflies. I kinda lost my shit a little - is this what the world looked like when it was new??
